For years Norton has been synonymous with security, and aside from a slight name change, Norton Security continues its fine tradition of offering comprehensive protection for PCs worldwide. (And it now covers Macs, iOS and Android devices, too - up to five in total.)

  • Norton protection has layers of security for full-coverage protection. Norton protection features multiple layers of protection, with purpose-built technologies designed to recognize different kinds of threats and guard each possible entry point on your devices. Learn more about Norton.
  • Norton Security 2015 Key Features: Through Norton Security 2015 Trial Reset you delivers safety to just about 5 of the different products including PC, Mac, iOS, pills and Android. Norton Security 2015 Keygen offers you security all types of attacks of spy ware, infections, malware, keylogger, bombarding, torjans, phishing adware and spyware.
  • Norton Security Standard, Norton Security Deluxe and Norton Security Premium are no longer available as a free trial. We have updated our protection and offer Norton 360 plans, with additional features like Secure VPN, PC SafeCam, PC Cloud Backup ‡‡, 4 and more.

There’s everything you’d expect in such a security suite: strong antivirus protection that monitors files and programs not just for known threats but for suspicious behaviour too, helping block malware before it can gain a foothold on your system.

Symantec Norton 360 2015 includes core modules to cover anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, a two-way firewall and browser protection, but also provides parental control, online storage, online backup, PC tune-up and identity protection. Download Free Trial of Norton Antivirus. All you need to do is click on the “Free Trial” button for either Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup to download an installer file that is about 124MB in size. Run the downloaded installer file and you’ll need to create a free Norton account in order to activate the one time 30 day trial.

There’s the firewall, of course, silently blocking attacks from both outside and inside your PC. Web Safety components check the links you click to make sure they’re safe to visit, while downloaded files are screened and checked for both security and reliability.

Norton Security also provides a spam filter, password manager/form filler, network monitor, startup program manager, bootable repair disc option, performance-related tools and more.

What’s new? The most obvious change is a brand new user interface, updated to blend in better with the modern look of Windows 10. This release also debuts what Symantec terms its 'next generation' anti-malware engine, which evaluates and offers protection against threats in real time using the cloud to reduce definition files by up to 80 per cent.

Other improvements include intelligent boot-time protection, more aggressive threat detection heuristics and automatic aggressive botnet scanning triggers. Smart data leak protection has been added along with improved Norton Community Watch integration.

Browser protection is now delivered without the need for installing browser plug-ins, while protection against socially engineered attacks has also been tightened.

The SONAR engine – used to detect brand new threats – has been improved alongside performance tweaks.

Please note, Norton Security replaces Norton Antivirus, Norton Internet Security and Norton 360. There is no direct upgrade path from those products to Norton Security - you'll have to buy a new licence - but of course they will still protect you until the end of your current subscription.

Verdict:

Time will tell if the new changes deliver better security for your PC, but it’s good to see Symantec continuing to evolve its product with increased protection and a slicker user interface.

Norton Internet Security Editor's Review

Keep your computer safe from the slings and arrows of outrageous, uh...malware with this best of breed security suite.

You're gonna hear me say this a lot here. Soft32 is serious about security software, and keeping your computer safe from malware. All of our downloads are certified malware free, and you're going to hear us talk up anti-malware and Internet suites quite a bit. Case in point – Norton and Symantec are synonymous with security and safe computing. This is why we love it for both on Windows and Mac machines.

Norton Internet Security for Windows runs on Windows XP SP 2 or later, Windows Vista SP 1 or later and Windows 7. The Mac versions runs on OS X 10.4.11 to 10.7; and it includes versions 4.x and 5.x so it runs on both Intel and PPC based Macs. Version 5.x is for Intel multi-core processors only. If you have an early Intel based Mac or a PowerPC based Mac, then Version 4 is for you. However, both will provide you with advanced security options and will protect your home network and your data from malware.

NIS protects you while you surf with Norton Safe Web. It proactively protects you while you surf by identifying and blocking unsafe and fake websites right in your search results. However, this feature requires Mac OS X 10.7 if you're a Mac user. Its anti-phishing technology blocks fraudulent phishing websites trying to steal your identity and your money. Its Smart Two-Way Firewall prevents cybercriminals from hacking into your machine, and from stealing your personal information and messing with your data.

The best thing about NIS is that its location aware. It lets you adjust your level of protection depending upon where you’re using your Mac. It has settings for at home, the office, the local coffee shop, on the road, etc.
Pros: Platform/processor independent.

Norton 2015 Trial

Cons: Norton Save Web requires Lion, requires a subscription fee for anti-malware definitions and protection.

Conclusion: NIS' most venerated features are its Vulnerability Protection. NIS updates itself daily to stop cybercriminals from exploiting vulnerabilities in applications and other software to sneak threats onto your computer. NIS includes Norton Anti-Virus, and with it, you get protection for your data agains viruses, spyware and other threats without huge performance impact. Best of all, NIS also scans your email for suspicious attachments and other malware.

As much as Symantec says that NIS doesn't slow your computer down, you should expect some dip in performance, especially if scans happen during the day, while you're using the computer.
